Cavo Tagoo Mykonos - Passage & Passport

You know how there are some places and experiences you could describe with words like amazing, life-changing, magnificent and exceptional… but they would never do it justice? Cavo Tagoo Mykonos is one of those places.

We’d wake at about 9 a.m., emerge onto our private terrace for a morning swim, drink espresso, and breakfast on fresh fruit, granola, croissants and sugar sprinkled over it. About 11 we’d lie down and fall asleep in the sun on our private sundeck. I’d wake up, dangle a toe in the water, fall asleep again, wake again when it was time to drink champagne and eat strawberries. We’d swim for a while, climb back out, lie on the big cushions on the terrace of our private villa, and be almost totally dry by the time lunch was ready – maybe tzatziki with pita bread, a Greek salad, and a bottle or two of cold white wine. We would then take a peak on the civilization, enjoy the rhythms of the music down by the main pool with the young and beautiful population around us. We’d go back up to our villa, from the windows of the bedroom, the living room, jacuzzi bathtub and terrace we’d see the azure blue waters, and most dazzling sunsets. We’d spend evenings having phenomenal Japanese moments at Kiku restaurant.

The thing about changeless perfect days is that you kind of get obsessed with their perfection. You think about the perfect number of glasses of wine to drink at lunch, the perfect pillow for your head, whether to swim, sunbathe or snooze the day away. It’s the opposite of adventure: you try to keep anything that isn’t perfect from ever happening.

Cavo Tagoo Mykonos is the place to be. It is impossible to forget and impossible to leave. Resting in wondrous cliffside with its alluring Mykonos style and whitewashed architecture it is astonishing, the views are impeccable, the villas spacious and super Instagrammable (obviously something we love – we could take an endless amount of great pictures here, it was just SO easy). It’s got class, style and glamour.

As full-time travelers we’ve slept in a lot of beds in a lot of different countries, all around the world! But it is this one property that stood out from them all.
